When did you start competing in track and field?

In eighth grade (2012)

What is your favorite track and field event?

The 600 meter run

If you could do any event in track and field, which one would it be and why?

The 400 meter dash because it’s short enough where you can sprint the whole lap, but long enough to have time to get to my maximum speed.

Describe your favorite workout:

Our team’s run called “Farview” because it’s our longest/ hardest run and although it’s hard work, it’s the most rewarding run.

Describe your favorite race/competition memory:

My favorite race would be when I competed in the “Jeri-Blair” cross-country invitational at Belmont High School because it was the first time I’ve ever won a plaque.

How does your coach motivate you?

He always has positive feedback even if I don’t perform my best at a meet. jcouts2He will still have full confidence in me and assure me that I will do better in the races to come.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

I would go to California because it’s a beautiful area and warm enough to run year round.

What is your go-to pre-meet meal?

If the meet is early In the morning I will have orange juice, a cliff bar, and a banana. If the meet is later in the afternoon after school I will have that same breakfast, with pasta for lunch.

Do you have a favorite prerace song?

No particular song.

What motivates you most to do well?

Setting a certain goal at the beginning of the season and trying my best to accomplish it.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

I would run a marathon.

What is the best advice or quote ever given to you?

You will never know your limits until you push yourself to them.

If you go to college, do you plan to compete in track and field? And where?

I have committed to SNHU. Next year I will be participating in cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track.

What is your favorite thing about Track and Field?

It’s given me a place where I truly feel that I belong and no matter what your skill level, everyone can participate.

What is your favorite track facility?

Dartmouth’s indoor track or Pelham high school’s outdoor track.
