WOW! NH Represents! OR’s Doody 2nd in the Nation! 4:42.45!

What a weekend down in North Carolina at New Balance Outdoor Nationals!  New Hampshire athletes gaughancertainly made their presence known in several events.  Oyster River’s Maegan Doody was the highlight placing 2nd in a hard fought Championship Mile in 4:42.45. The now 2-time All American nearly stole the victory with a tremendous kick over the last 200+ meters!  Exeter’s Jackie Gaughan led things off placing 5th in the 5000 Friday night to be crowned NH’s first All-American of 2016.  Alvirne’s Kendall Westhoff made the race in his heat of the Emerging Elite section of the 3200 on Saturday by taking the lead and pushing the pace midway.  Coe-Brown’s Elisabeth Danis ran a similarly courageous race in Section 1 of the Championship 2-mile placing second after waging battle over the last few laps taking the lead several times in route to 10th in the nation in 10:33.43.

MV’s Kristie Schoffield led things off for NH on Sunday blazing the 800 in 2:10.67!  Trinity’s Tim Zepf ran 1:56.91.  Not to be overlooked, Lebanon’s Corinne Kennedy won her heat of the 400 in a sizzling 54.93!  Bedford’s Leya Salis ran the full mile in 4:54.67 to place 13th in the country.  In the field, Timberlane’s Kyle Faucher placed 14th in the nation with a toss of 187′!  His teammate Liam Kimball wrapped up the NH contingent with running 4:14.93 to place 11th in the nation in the mile.  Congrats to all!  See you next year!
