Large School Girls
Woodbury Middle School successfully made it 3 consecutive titles led by their 1-2 finish of Gabriella Martinello (12:24), who repeated as champ, and Lily Thomas (12:33). Gabriella’s sister, Allyson Martinello (12:55) was Woodbury’s 3rd scorer placing 11th while Mary Olsen (14th, 13:24) and Marina D’Amico (24th, 13:44) rounded out Woodbury’s score of 40 to Hampton Academy’s 70 points. The runner-ups were led by 7th grader Miley Bletzer’s 4th place finish in 12:41, right behind 3rd place finisher Ginia Rufo (12:40) of West Running Brook, and outleaning Hanover’s Sarah Glueck (5th, 12:41).
Hampton’s 2nd scorer, Kate Burrus, placed 6th in 12:48 holding off a pair of Oyster River runners Haley Kavanagh (7th, 12:50) and Mackenzie Cook (8th, 12:51). Dover’s Isabel McIntyre (9th, 12:51) and Lily Poteet (10th, 12:54) rounded out the top 10. Oyster River would place 3 in the top 16 (Erin Carty, 13:33) to place 3rd with 89 points edging Dover’s 94 points. Cooperative would edge Londonderry Middle for 5th 113 to 116.
Large School Boys
By placing 5 in the top 14, Woodbury Middle School boys secured the sweep to amass 40 points to Cooperative’s 69. While Sanborn’s Tyson Khalil 
continued the family tradition winning going away in 11:19. Woodbury was led by a 7th grader, Brock James who placed 2nd in 11:42. His 6th grade teammates, the Chisholm twins, Brody (12:04) and Elliot (12:05) placed 6th and 7th respectively while Colby Savageau (11th, 12:19) and John Plante (14th, 12:38) rounded out Woodbury’s championship scoring.
Oyster River’s Cole Harwood would place 3rd in 11:53, with runner-up Cooperative Middle School’s Brennan Gregoire (11:56) and Owen Welch (12:01) right behind him in 6th and 7th. Dover’s Charlie Covert was 8th in 12:08 and Monadnock’s Jace Joslyn placed 9th in 12:14. Cooperatives #3 scorer, Brodie Proulx would round out the top 10 in 12:17. Team places 3rd through 5th were separated by only 9 points with Keene Middle school (98) edged Oyster River (104) and Londonderry (107).
Girls Small School
Continuing the recently strong tradition in Deerfield, Bella Lemay took home the individual small school title in 13:14 holding off Brianna Harlow (WRMS), who ran 13:20, Newfound’s Leah Caron may have placed 3rd in 13:31, but she led her team to the small school state title. Along with her 6th grade teammate, Ceili Irving (5th, 13:44), Addison Alpers (20th, 14:44), Reece Cutting (24th, 15:01), and Josie Halle (40th, 15:32), the Lakes Region school placed four in the top 24 and 5 in the top 40 to take the title with 87 points over Deerfield’s 104 points.
The remaining top 10 was a myriad of color as Barrington’s Greta Parks placed 3rd in 13:39 and her teammate, 5th grader, Haley Bezanson placed 6th in 14:03. Plymouth’s Reagan Sutherland placed 7th in 14:05 with St. Mary’s Karolin Salvatore placing 8th in 14:07 right in front of Inter-Lakes’ Valerie Robinson (9th, 14:09). Rounding out the top 10 was Meredith Kerivan, who ran 14:15.
Plymouth placed 3rd, just 2 points behind Deerfield. Barrington was 4th with 153 points edging Southeast League rival (friendly!) Strafford which scored 158 points to round out the top 5.
Boys Small School
While Plymouth’s Nathanial Gervez was running away with the small school title by 30 seconds in 11:08, Canaan’s Indian River was placing 5 in the top 23 to secure the small school state title. Led by Bryce Ballou’s 7th place finish in 12:29, Indian River would have all 5 scorers cross the line within the next 50 seconds with Marshall York (12th, 12:51), Tanner Moulton (13th, 12:56), Gunner Courier (17th, 13:11), and Karson Rogers (23rd, 13:19) scoring.
Strafford School (4th overall) certainly put on the pressure securing 2nd and 3rd with Chris Raymond (11:42) and Jamie Lano (11:47) respectively. Inter-Lakes was 2nd overall placing 2 in the top 10 with Ronan Hird (4th, 12:08) and Daniel Hodge (10th, 12:42) with 108 points.
Rounding out the top 10 individuals were Fall Mountains David Northcutt (5th 12:08), Winchester Central’s Ian Cardinale (6th. 12:15), Northwood’s Carson Hodgdon (8th, 12:37) and WRMS’s Henry Brogan (9th, 12:41).
Rounding out the to 5 teamwise, was Henniker Community School 3rd with 156 poitns and Plymouth, 5th with 176 points.
