In typical Granite State pride fashion, when one (well 3 in this case) door closes, our community tends to kick another one or two or three open! Yes for the second consecutive year, the state meets and traditional NH Winter Track League have been canceled due to COVID concerns. However, pockets are developing where track and field meets are actually occurring. With the fair weather, we have seen outdoor track and field meets (thanks Portsmouth and Pelham) which are staging mostly indoor events outdoors! Pretty awesome and cool concept! We also have seen a meet already at the Dome as well as PEA. Expect more from these venues over the next 2 months. Also expect many NH athletes to travel for competition, perhaps as far as Virginia and NYC.
Our athletes have been robbed of yet another full season of competition that we have come to adore in the form of the NH Winter Track League; however, through the efforts of many, there are opportunities popping sporadically which satisfy the ever increasing restrictions involving masking, testing, vaccinations, and gathering of vaccination information. We would like to give thanks to the leaders at the NHTFCA as they continue to explore innovative ways to create opportunities for the kids of NH Winter Track and Field!
So coaches, fans, please send us links to any results we are missing! We will have a weekly post dedicated to results each week. If there is a meet somewhere which has even just 1 NH high school athlete, please send it to us (with pics???)! We want to help with featuring their results for all to see! Also coaches, please update battlenotes! Remember to adjust handtimes by .24! 🙂

Congratulations to our creative and tenacious coaches who will surmount any obstacle placed in their path.
In New York City in the early sixties, we competed outdoors in “Polar Bear” Meets in December. In January we moved indoors to the Armory – same building as today but without the state-of-the-art 200m banked oval. Then it was a flat floor oval, the space housing the homeless when not hosting HS meets on the weekends.
I know NH coaches will do the best they can to get meets for our athletes. With a lack of facilities it is tough, but we do have some very innovative individuals who want to do the best we can for our kids.
Thank you for this ! I love these programs pushing through!
The results from meets at the Dome are missing. If we are possibly thinking of a big meet in February the battlenotes need to be complete.
