Granite State in the Bay State at the Northeast Invite!

This past weekend, despite all the challenges, the MSTCA and Reggie Lewis Center hosted an invitational stretched over 3 days in Boston.  Shout out to all involved as they provided a great opportunity for athletes from multiple states to compete against one another.  New Hampshire TF athletes certainly made their presence known!

Friday opened the meet with a handful of events but a slew of action.  Kicking off the meet was the Boys’ 1 Mile Run.  Dover’s Tylernortheast11 Sheedy, continuing a great senior indoor campaign, placed 2nd in 4:18.42 to Mass State Champ Freddy Collins of Nashoba (4:14.56).  Sheedy’s teammate Isabel McIntyre also had a great day placing 6th in 5:18.31.
Sprint Medleys were highlighted by Pinkerton’s (Jacob Spezzaferri, Alex LeBlanc, Zackery Smith, Luke Brennan) 4th place finish in 3:45.18, while Coe-Brown’s Distance Medley Relay (Aidan Cox, Jacob Cowan, Gavin Demas, Lars Hogne) placed 3rd in 11:01.94.  Oyster River Girls DMR (Haley Kavanaugh, Talia Banafato, Erin Carty, Mackenzie Cook) also had a great showing placing 4th in 13:31.50.  For good measure, Coe-Brown’s Jacob Cowan placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a hop, skip and jump spanning 40’3.5″.
Teams also showed up in force on Saturday.  NH went 1-2 in the High Jump as Dan Dorhety from Oyster River had a big PR day in the high jump at 6’4” to in with Ian Solberg from Hanover breaking another school record in the high jump at 6’2” to place 2nd.
northeast04The infield events saw MV’s Seth Baylus place 2nd in the Dash in 6.53.  Baylus would come back on Sunday to nab another runner up in the 200 in a blazing 22.71.  Exeter’s Sydney Lavelle, who placed 6th in the Long Jump, took 3rd in the Dash in 7.54.  She would also come back Sunday to place 3rd in the 400 in a 59.81.  Also taking third on the infield was OR’s Charlotte Cousins in the High Hurdles in 8.64.
On the oval, Hanover’s Pierce Seigne took down a school record in the 1000 in 2:41.24.  Portsmouth’s Jake Haley placed 5th in the 600 in 1:26.43 while his teammate Michael Schoff placed 7th in 37.47.  Pinkerton’s Madison Connors took 4th in the 300 in 42.94 while the boys from Pinkerton (Matthew Morrison, Smith, LeBlanc, Spezzaferri) placed 3rd in the 4×200 in 1:35.97.
Sunday saw Brennan return to place 4th in the 2 Mile in 9:30.85.  CBNA’s Hogne was 7th in 9:38.56.  OR’s freshmen phenoms were at it again in the 2 Mile with Cook placing 6th in 11:34.41 and Kavanaugh  9th in 11:39.24.  Dover’s Jeremiah Payeur ran a gutsy 800 to place 3rd in 1:59.38.  Pinkerton’s Connors came back once again to place 5th in the 200 in 27.49.
