Around the Oval! WTL!

In our 2nd installment for winter track and in effort to continue to highlight awesome performances of Granite State athletes,DSC07071 check out some of the great performances over the past couple weeks thrown down at meets offered by Boston University.

Beginning with the girls, Exeter’s Sydney Lavelle continues to impress dropping times of 26.08 in the 200 and 60.83 in the 400 this past weekend.  BG’s Fiona Doherty achieved her goal of breaking 3:00 in the 1k as she crossed the finish line in 2:58.54 this past weekend.  The Green Wave triumverate of Izi McIntyre, Anique Poulin and Alyson Bortz posted 1k times of 3:05.12, 3:06.62, and 3:16.08 respectively.  And Souhegan’s Chloe Trudel rolled to a 5:08 in the mile 2 weeks ago and posted a 10:20 this past Sunday.

On the boys side, NH’s best sprinter, MV’s Seth Baylus has indeed been active posting 200 meter times of 22.26 and 22.31 over the past 2 meets at BU.  Dover’s Tyler Sheedy became the 3rd Granite Stater in recent memory to break the 15 minute barrier in the 5000 as he blasted a 14:56 this past Sunday.  Congrats Tyler!

Sheedy’s teammate Jeremiah Payeur continues to have a great season as he posted a 1:58.91. Londonderry’s Will Plante ran 2:04.61 DSC06867while Coe-Brown’s Gavin Demas kicked to ta 2:04.89.  Plante’s teammate Sean Clegg continued his 1k prowess posting a 2:34.29, while Demas’s teammate Aidan Cox posted an 8:30 3k.  Lebanon’s Birhanu Harriman also ran the 3000 meters in 8:47 while the mile saw Keene’s Torin Kindopp pop a 4:18 and Pinkerton’s Luke Brennan post a 4:27.

Teams has even thrown together some relays.  Bishop Guertin girls ran the distance medley relay rolling to a time of 12:26.32.  Doherty, Cairns, White and Marykate Finn (5:08) comprised their relay.

Oyster River boys posted a time of 10:48.30 with Hagan, Dorrow, Swiesz and Labonte.  They edged the BG boys who ran 10:52.28 and had Rivers, Seman O’Keefe and Fondakowski.

Disclaimer!  There was an insane amount of results to pour through, if we missed anyone and you want to give them a shout out, comment below!!!


Alum!  Highlight had to be Exeter’s Jake Winslow’s (Dartmouth) attempt to break 4:00 in the mile while running for Dartmouth.  WhileMeet of Champions 2017-415 he came within a few seconds crossing in 4:01.83, given a better race, expect Winslow to become a sub 4 minute miler soon.

Alvirne’s Noah Bellomo (UMASS-Lowell) rolled ot a 2:22.05 1k while Windham’s Quinn Cerami is in the results posting a 23.11 in the 200 meters. Mascenic’s Landen Vaillancourt rolled to a 8:44 in the 3000 meters while Oyster River’s Owen Fleischer (URI) posted a 1:55.67 and Merrimack’s Ryan Fischer (WPI) crossed in 1:57.14.

On the women’s side West’s Corinne Robitaille (Darmouth) threw down a 4:48.95 in the Mile.  Milford’s Rebecca Durham (URI) also rocked the mile in 4:57.57 edging Gilford alum (UNH) Lauren Dean who posted a PR of 4:57.96. Dean’s current teammates, Addison Cox and Oyster River’s Lily Doody ran 5:02 and 5:12 respectively.   Bedford’s Caroline Mahoney, also on the LadyCatPack, ran 10:16 for the 3k.  Concord’s Sarah Zarakotas (SNHU) continues to roll posting an 18:06.
