Since 2003 Exeter High School has hosted the Seacoast Championships, which include some of the Seacoast’s best track and field
athletes from New Hampshire. The Exeter girls have won 11 of the 17 times the meet has been hosted and appear to be the favorites on paper, but should get stiff competition from D2 power Coe-Brown. On the boys side the Portsmouth Clippers bring a loaded and complete track and field squad to the Blue Hawks nest. They should be challenged by the new look Coe-Brown team. Coe-Brown, which has dominated distance events for the better part of the last decade, brings a dominant field event team to the table. Could it be a D2 Coe-Brown sweep or will the D1 powers triumph?
Girls to Watch
Sydney Lavelle of Exeter: She has been one of the most dominant track and field athletes in 2022 and is the top seed in the 100h, 300h, and LJ, with state bests in the LJ (18’8”) and 300h (45.26). The meet record in the LJ is 18’1” and 300 hurdles 45.0.
Charlotte Cousins Oyster River: Dominant hurdler year after year seems to be coming into form and should challenge Sydney in the 100h.
Grace Kunysz (Exeter), Anushka Chavda (Coe Brown), and Lily Jenkins (Portsmouth) should be an epic race in the 100 and 200!
Brianna Malone (Portsmouth Christian Academy): She is the lone seed under 60 seconds in the 400 meters and has a punishing kick.
Kylee Quinlan (Winnacunnet): Top seed in the 800 meters has been a dominant force in the middle distance events since a 9th grader.
Sheldyn Fisher (Coe-Brown): Won the 3200 at the Merrimack Invite will drop down to the 1600 as the top seed in what should be a very competitive race.
Erin Eastwood (Exeter) & Makena Lee (Coe-Brown): The top two pole vaulters in the state will go at it for the 3rd time this season, each has one win against the other.
Kiersten Mackeen (Timberlane): Top seed in the high jump.
Natalie Sicard (Coe-Brown): Top seed in the triple and the 2 seed in the LJ.
Natalie Riley (Coe-Brown): The individual that could be the difference in the team race as she is the top thrower in both the shot and disc. She may have a shot at the meet record in the discus 125’8”.
Rachel Poulin (Exeter) & Emma Zeblisky (Coe-Brown): Two of the top Javelin throwers in the state. They finished 1-2 last week at the Merrimack Invite with Emma getting the win.
Exeter is the top seed in the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays and Winnacunnet is the top seed in the 4×800.
Boys to Watch
Admed Nada (Portsmouth): Comes in as the 1 seed in the 100 with the right conditions he could make a run at breaking 11 seconds.
Ty Dorrow (Oyster River): the two seed in the 100 and the top seed in the 200 and 400. Has progressively gotten better and better. Is sub 50 and a meet record (50.66) in range?
Speedy Tyler Sheedy and Jeremiah Payeur of Dover are the top two seeds in the 800. Payeur has been sub 2 before, can Sheedy join him? Sheedy is also the top seed in the 1600
Dylan Labonte (Oyster River) is the top seed in the 300 Hurdles.
Calvin Duffy (Winnacunnet) is the top seed in the 110 High Hurdles.
Tyler Tkaczyk of Coe-Brown is the top seed and only boy under 10 minutes in the 3200m.
Daniel Doherty (Oyster River) is the top seed in the boys high jump at 6’1”.
Anders Larson (Coe-Brown) will be everywhere, seeded second in the 110 hurdles, and the top seed in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and Pole Vault.
Kevin Kolodeziej (Sanborn) is the top seed in the shot put.
Zachary Bastani is the top seed in the discus.
Nate Fletcher (Portsmouth) is the two seed in the 400 and Javelin, but could easily be considered the favorite in either event.
Portsmouth has the top seeds in the 4×100 and 4×400 while Oyster River enters with the top time in the 4×800. All three relay meet records are within range.
