Oyster River boys didn’t enter the Seacoast Championships as one of the favorites but they left with the trophy behind a collective 104 point effort, 4 points ahead of D1 power Portsmouth. Despite the many powerhouse boy’s teams, Oyster River has produced over the years this was their first Seacoast Championship on the boys side. On the girl’s side Exeter made it 4 straight Seacoast Championships amassing 144.4 points well ahead of runner-up Coe-Brown Academy.
The story of the meet on the boys side was the dominant performance by Ty Dorrow of Oyster River. Dorrow won the 100m in 11.44, 200m in 23.53, and 400m 51.10. He was named Male Track Performer of the meet.
Jeremiah Payeur of Dover with a sub 2 minute performance in the 800 winning in 1:59.57. Speedy Tyler Sheedy of Dover established a new meet record in the 1600m with a time of 4:22.14. Tyler Tkaczyk of Coe-Brown made a run at the 3200 meet record just coming up short but establishing a new personal best in 9:50.38.
Ian Ripperger of Portsmouth blasted the hurdles in 15.93 for a dominant win. Distance runner Dillon Labonte of Oyster River clearly has a bright future in the steeplechase as he won the 300 hurdles in 43.08. Dover boys won a close battle in the 4×100, Oyster River won the 4×800 behind a strong anchor leg performance, and Portsmouth ran away with the 4×400 meter relay.
Daniel Doherty of Oyster River won yet another high jump title this season clearing 5’11”. Coe-Brown was dominant in the Pole Vault going 1-2-3 it was Zachary Blades getting the win in 10’7”. Brady
McInnis of Dover with a personal best 20’2.5” in the long jump for the win. Jacob Cowan of Coe Brown hit 40’ on the nose for the win in the triple.
Dylan Palermo of Portsmouth won a tight boys shot put title with a throw of 44’6.5”. Cayden Giordani of Oyster River won the discus with a toss of 116’1”. Jason Yeaton of Portsmouth led a 1-2-3-4 finish for the Clippers winning the javelin with a toss of 144’3”.
On the girls side, Sydney Lavelle of Exeter continued her dominance in the 2022 season winning the 100 hurdles in a lifetime best 15.37, 300 hurdles in 45.78, long jump 17’5.5”. She was named Female Performer of the meet. Her teammate, Grace Kunysz won the 100 meters in 12.78 seconds while Lily Jenkins of Portsmouth got revenge in the 200m with a win in 27.06.
Brianna Malone of Portsmouth Christian dropped a sub 60 performance in the 400 for the win (59.82). Isabel McIntyre of Dover had quite the day running on a couple relays and winning the 800 in 2:24.18. Sheldyn Fisher of Coe-Brown used a final kick to take home the 1600 meters in 5:12.50. Maya Tabor of Winnacunnet got the win in the 3200 in 12.23.84.
Exeter took home the 4×100 and 4×400 while Winnacunnet got the win in the 4×800.
Charlotte Koutalidis of Winnacunnet won the girls high jump clearing 4’7”.
Makena Lee of Coe-Brown and Erin Eastwood of Exeter (The top two pole vaulters in the state) both set personal bests in the Pole Vault clearing 10’7” but it was Lee getting the win on fewer misses. Josephine Malloy of Coe-Brown won the triple jump going 33’2”.
Natalie Riley of Coe-Brown continued her dominance in the throws winning the shot (36’4”) and the discus (113’11”). Rachel Poulin of Exeter with a personal best 116’8” took the girls Javelin.
