Oh yeah! Things are heating up as the snow is falling in NH this Monday, so this is the perfect time to introduce a new feature we will carry through the Winter Track League Season: NHTF Shout-Outs! Yes we do the HOKA Athlete of the Week, but that celebrates just 2 athletes. The Granite State typically has so many more stand out performances worthy of mentions! Similar to the point in interviews when the athletes give quick shout-outs, these will be quick! Additionally, we hope this becomes more of an interactive post where you all comment below if you think someone should get a shout-out who did not for their weekend performance! Enjoy!
Shout-Outs: Weekend 1/13-1/15/2023
- Memorial’s AJ Sebastian took over the top spot on D1 Battlenotes in the DASH! 6.62!
- South’s Iyana Braswell came within .01 of doing the same with a blazing 7.43 down in Rhode Island
- Frosh phenom Mikita Barry lowered her state leading time in the 300 to 42.34
- Londonderry’s Sean Clegg went off in the 600, flying to a 1:22.40 at PEA.
- 2nd in that race was Bedford’s Jacob Redman in 1:24.63, but he was coming off his 2nd place the night before in the mile at Dartmouth Relays in 4:21.
- CBNA’s Sheldyn Fisher won the Dartmouth Relays Mile in 5:16.30. This converts to a 4:52 and change 1500.
- CBNA’s Distance Medley Relay of Tyler Tkaczyk, Gavin Demas, Jamie Lano, and Aidan Cox qualified for Nationals winning at Dartmouth Relays in 10:34.81. They held the nation’s #1 time for a couple hours, until a couple teams in Virginia ran faster. This after Cox, Lano and Tkaczyk ran the mile an hour or so prior placing 3rd (4:26.50), 4th (4:26.79) and 7th (4:32.25) respectively.
- Cox followed up the next morning at Plymouth posting an 8:39.91. State record is 8:39.52 by Patrick O’Brien.
- PCA’s Brianna Malone posted a 10:11.60 at PEA, top time in the state by over 20 seconds. While this is an incredible run, we have to point out Malone’s range!!! She has run 4:53.26 in the 1500, 3:01.67 in the 1000, 1:37.33 all tops in the state! Throw in the 300 in 43.28 good for 3rd in the state, and can we think of another athlete in recent years with this kind of range?
- Bedford’s Christopher Chong is tops in the Hurdles dropping an 8.02 this past weekend.
- Pinkerton’s Jordan Wheaton broke the meet record at the Northeast Invitational in the hurdles posting a blazing 8.44.
- Hanover boys, Aidan Powell, Aidan Bradley, Joaquin Martin and Lucian Gleiser rolled to a 3:31.31 4×400 for tops in the state.
- Hanover’s Ian Solberg who has cleared 6’7″ this season, won the Dartmouth Relays clearing 6’3″. State Record is 6’9″ by Dwight Barbiasz of Milford (2008).
- Concord’s Ella Goulas pulled out a 3rd place at the monstrous Northeast Invite in Boston this past weekend long jumping 17’5.5″, tops in the state currently.
- Newmarket’s Alanna Hagen wins the 600 meters and 1500 meters, while anchoring the 4×400 to 2nd place finish.

Ella G. was actually 3rd in the Long Jump at the East Coast Invitational in Providence, RI, where she also won the High Jump with a mark of 5’2″ !
Kearsarge Girls 4×400 relay team won the 4x400m relay at the Dartmouth Relays on Saturday January 14th.
Bishow Thapa of Merrimack Valley won the 600m and led his team to a win in the 4×400 meter. Deserving of a shout out.
