HOKA Female Athlete of the Week: PCA’s Brianna Malone

Each week we highlight one male and female athlete who stood out with their cumulative performances of the week and/or had one jaw-dropping pop of a mark.

Yes we have been waiting, knowing this particular individual was going to do something eye-popping (even more than what she has already done).  Perhaps that was this weekend when Brianna Malone won her 1000 meter heat in the monstrous Terrier Classic at Boston University.  Given the ‘luxury’ of simply following for most of the race, Malone employed a devastating kick to cross the line in 2:52.26. This mark is currently #3 in the nation.  The D1 High Point commit is currently tops in the state 600m (1:37.33), aforementioned 1k, 1500 (4:41.90; US-25th), and 3k (10:11.60; US-20th). She could conceivably score over 30 points by herself at the Division 2 State Championships in 10 days.  Congrats to Brianna Malone, this week’s HOKA Female Athlete of the Week!
