He was in the fastest and deepest Indoor 5000 meter races in history, and he certainly stuck his nose in it. CBNA’s Aidan Cox settled into the low 14:00 pace set by Daniel Simmons (Utah) and Lex Young (CA) and there he sat through through 3000 meters in 8:31 and 9:09 through 3200 meters. Then Oregon’s Tyrone Gorze decided it was time to gradually move up to the front where he absolutely blew the race wide open. Over the final 1000 meters he ran 2:34 chasing the lights to break Edward Cheserek’s HS American record breaking the tape in 13:56. Simmons also broke the 14:00 barrier to post a 13:59 outdueling Young (14:00). While Florida’s Patrick Koon crossed in 14:11, Cox was battling with Washington’s Zach Munson. Both were fading, but Cox was able to pull away to grab his podium spot in 14:21.89. This time is not only a NH State record, but also is #9 All-Time for the US. Congratulations to the new All-American.
This came the day after Coe-Brown, competing as Black Bear Track Club, placed 10th in the country in the Distance Medley Relay. Tyler Tkaczyk led off in the 1200, Gavin Demas took the stick in the 400 while Jamie Lano carried the 800. Cox split a 4:14 mile in that one to post an overall time of 10:18.
Oyster River’s Mackenzie Cook scored a personal record in the 5000 meters placing 22nd in 
18:08. PCA’s Brianna Malone also PR’d in the indoor 800 posting a 2:16 to finish 47th. Of note, Bedford freshman Mikita Barry got second in the frosh 800 clocking 2:13.
HUGE Shoutout to the folks at New Balance! This year at their new, state-of-the-art facility, they hosted 5000 athletes from across the country. They have deemed this the fastest show on the planet and they are not wrong. National records were broken, incredible races and competitions were on full display. This all in our backyard in New England. Thanks to New Balance for building a facility of this stature which will be hosting national and world class events for years and years to come. Not only that, but they also open their doors to small league meets and USATF events making them a true community partner. And they have a NH partner, the very best with Lancer Timing! Yep are there!
