LIVE RESULTS & PERFORMANCE LISTS

This coming Saturday Sanborn High School hosts the 2nd Annual Sanborn Invitational (formally Merrimack Valley Invitational). With it being one of the larger invites in the state, we look forward to covering the early season competition this Saturday.  NHTF will be there in full force!  We will bring you a livestream, photos, interviews!  We will also be selling our 2023 NHTF Shirts!

So to prepare for this, below is what to watch for!  Good luck to all and congratulations to Sanborn!

Untitled photoSprints & Hurdles

Kearsarge’s Juliet Faria and Kennett’s Aida Wheat are seeded 1 and 2 in the 100 meter dash setting up D2 v. D3 showdown of sorts.  Wheat is the top seed in the 200 later in the day.  Bishop Brady’s Joshua Gentchos is the clear favorite on the boys side in the 100.  The 200 should be a showdown of sorts as Sanborn’s Brady Ash takes on Oyster River’s Ty Dorow.  Both should be doubling back from a previous event.

Oyster River’s Erin Carty and Pelham’s Reese Nicolosi are the top 2 seeds in the high hurdles.  Carty is also the top seed in the 300m Hurdles.  On the boys’ side, Monadnock’s Gavin Lombara is tops in the Highs.  No clear cut favorite in the 300 Hurdles however as Bishop Brady’s Nate Steigmeyer, Lebanon’s Nicholas Lamontagne and Gilford’s Nicholas Haddocks all have been in the 43’s thus far this season.

Middle Distance

Watch for a close one in the 400 as Sanborn’s Lily Tedford and Hopkinton’s Reese Bove are separated by only .04 according to their seed times.  Perhaps the race of the day could be on the boys’ side as Dorow and Ash are both seeded in the 49s!  Oyster River’s Haley Kavanagh has the top seed in the 800, and is the only athlete seeded under 2:20.  However, names like Newmarket’s Alanna Hagen and Oyster River’s Mackenzie Cook are on the performance list as well.   On the boys’ side the Oyster River theme continues as Chris Jernigan and Keane Swiesz are the top 2 seeds.  Gilford’s Patrick Gandini is seeded 3rd, but he will assuredly be doubling back.Untitled photo

Distance

Oyster River’s Kavanagh and Cook are seeded 1 and 3 in the girls 1600 with Coe-Brown’s Sheldyn Fisher seeded 2nd.  Expect this to be a great battle.  Talking about great battles, the 2022 NHCC Runners of the Year meet again in the 1600 as Lebanon’s Birhanu Harriman and Gilford’s Patrick Gandini will be squaring off.  Hopkinton’s Hannah Bennett is top seed in the girls 3200 while Harriman is the top seed in the boys.  But watch for his teammate Thomas Wolfe as well.

Jumps

Girls High Jump should be very competitive as 8 athletes are seeded 4’10” or better with Kearsarge’s Amelia Lefebvre tops at 5’0″.  Oyster River’s Daniel Doherty is the top seed on the boys’ side at 6’4″.  The girls pole vault is up for grabs as well as 4 athletes are seeded at 8’0-8’1″ with CBNA’s Shannon Ross at the top.  The boys side should be a showdown of sorts as CBNA’s Zachary Untitled photoBlades and Plymouth’s Cole Ahern are both seeded at 12’0″.

In the Long Jump and Triple, Coe-Brown’s Josephine Malloy is the top seed.  Conant’s Ben Sawyer is the top seed on the boys’ side at 21’6″ while Pembroke’s Gavin Currier is top seed in the Triple at 41’3″.

Throws

West’s Helena Jackson is the top seed in the girls Shot, but expect Pelham’s Addison Keller to take a shot at the win as well.  Leb’s Tanner Ames is the heavy favorite in the boys Shot.  He should expect some competition in the Discus however as CBNA’s Zach Bistany is the top seed by just 4 inches over Ames.  Newfound’s Isabelle Laplume is top seed in the Girls Discus.  MV’s Victoria Leak should give her a run for her money though.  The girls’ javelin sees Pembroke’s Lillian Corbitt as the clear favorite to win with  Gilford’s Isaiah Reese the favorite on the boys side.

Good luck to all!  We are planning to LIVESTREAM!  And we will be selling this year’s 2023 Shirts!
