D3 Championships! HOKA Athletes of the Week: Newfound’s Elle MacDonald & Brady’s Joshua Gentchos

Special this week, we will be recognizing 6 individuals as HOKA Athletes of the Week.  2 from each Division beginning with D3!  Two sprinters will be the focal point this week.  For the girls, we are recognizing the 100 and 200 D3 Champion, Newfound’s Elle MacDonald! Only a sophomore, MacDonald is a part of a youth movement in the sprints for Division 3. She won the 100 in 12.89 and the 200 in 26.77.

And for the boys, we are recognizing Bishop Brady’s Joshua Gentchos who also won the 100 and 200 meters as well as 2nd leg on their state championship 4x100m Relay.  Gentchos ran 11.08 and 22.74, but it was who he beat.  D3s sprint division is ultra competitive, and prior to the meet it was a toss up as to who the true favorite would be in both the 100 and 200.  But Gentchos won both against studly names like Tim Kelm, Isaiah Reese, Brady Ash, Nehemiah Oyaronbi in the process.

Congrats to Newfound’s Elle MacDonald and Bishop Brady’s Joshua Gentchos, this week’s D3 Championship HOKA Athletes of the Week.2023 Div 3 Champs-258
