HOKA Athletes of the Week! Hanover’s Leah Perreard & BG’s Matthew Giardina

Congratulations to Hanover’s Leah Perreard and BG’s Matthew Giardina as they are this season’s first HOKA Athletes of the Week. Both Perreard and Giardina ran unchallenged over the entirety of the race course at the 2023 Nashua North Invitational. Perreard expected to be in a pack battling for the win, but right from the get-go took control never looking back . Matter of fact, she never seemed to push herself to the brink, crossing the line in 18:02. The sophomore won by 37 seconds.

Giardina was the clear favorite to win this past weekend and left no doubt even by the mile mark. His lead only grew throughout the race and he certainly ripped the last hundred meters to break the tape in 15:09 to 2nd place’s 15:32.

Both will be racing Manchester Invitational this coming week and we certainly look forward to how they tackle historical Derryfield Park!
