Athletes of all levels will have a few chances to compete at the TRACK at New Balance this winter. Here’s the latest opportunity to run on what’s been deemed as one of the fastest tracks in the world. On Sunday, Jan. 7, the Boston venue will play host to the inaugural Marathon Sports Winter Classic. For high-schoolers, the meet will include a good mix of events, most of which are not competed during a typical indoor schedule, such as the 200-meter dash, 400m, 800m and 5,000m. The full schedule is below. If you’re looking for the perfect opportunity for a PR and/or a qualifier for the New Balance Nationals, this is the place. The Marathon Sports Winter Classic is sanctioned by the USATF. It’s a meet that is meant to be a community event, open to youth, high school, college and adults. All athletes must enter and pay through Direct Athletics. If you don’t have a Direct Athletic account, you can get one by going to www.directathletics.com.
