HOKA Athletes of the Week! Merrimack’s Alexis Best & H/B’s Samuel Bruneau

Congratulations to Merrimack’s Alexis Best and Hollis/Brookline’s Samuel Bruneau, this week’s HOKA Athletes of the Week! Best has had a late start to her season, but she has certainly made the ‘best’ (sorry) of her opportunities including this past weekend at the huge East Coast Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island. While she place 5th in the DASH and 4th in the Long Jump, she did so with impressive results. Her 7.34 in the Dash is the top time in all of NH! Her 17’3.5″ leap is also at the top of the state! Can’t deny that!

While this is not Hollis/Brookline’s Samuel Bruneau first season competing in the NH WTL, 2024 has seen him rise from the shadows, if-you-will, dethroning the top names in the sprints over the regular season. While the peak of this thus far had to be Dartmout Relays win in the 55 meters, he has followed that up impressively. This past weekend, he crossed the finish line in both individual events at Plymouth. He won the Dash in 6.65 (#3 in D2) and the 300 meter in relative cruise mode. He backed that up with a near come from behind win as the anchor leg of his team’s 4×200 Relay!

Congrats to both Alexis and Samuel, our HOKA Athletes of the Week!
