Two national meets both in the northeast makes it relatively easy for NH athletes to experience that level of competition. Most Granite Staters made the easy trip to Boston for the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Highlighting the weekend has to be the All-Americans!!! Timberlane’s Danielle Bates soaring over 5’7″ and onto the podium placing 5th in the High Jump at New Balance Nationals.

Later in the weekend, the Exeter girls 4×800 relay may have been the only Granite Staters to travel down to NYC and Nike Indoor Nationals, but they made the most of their trip to the big city! Their team of the Paterna twins, Alexis and Brianna as well as Isabelle Bremer and Eli Cross raced fearlessly as they led most of the way by employing a get out hard, press and hang on for dear life tactic. Facing a couple of the best anchor legs in the country, Cross went out conservatively but also raced courageously attempting to retake the lead several times over the last half. They ultimately crossed in 9:15.17, one of the fastest time ever in NH Indoor Track history and also garnering All-American honors!
Shout out to BG’s Matthew Giardina who placed an impressive 7th in 5000 meters in 14:38.50 earlier in the weekend at New Balance Nationals . Oyster River girls placed in the top 10 of the nation as well, taking 9th in the Distance Medley Relay with a time right at 12:00. Mackenzie Cook led off with a 1200 meter leg of 3:35.08, followed by Avery Baumgardt’s 63 second 400 meter leg. Madelyn Cook carried the baton for 800 clocking a split of 2:25.12 and Haley Kavanagh rolled to a 4:56.44 1600 for the anchor.
Both meets had incredible free coverage. Check out their websites which both contain links to live results. videos etc!
Congrats to all! See you outdoors!
