On a windy but warm day at Sanborn High School, the 2025 Sanborn Invitational delivered an action-packed marathon of track and field competition with standout performances across the board. From blistering sprints to gritty distance battles and dominant field performances, this meet showcased some of New Hampshire’s finest high school talent.

As always the folks of Sanborn put on an incredible event as they will for the D2/D3 State Championships on the last day of May.

Sprints & Hurdles

The sprint events kicked off with the 100-meter dash, where Kylie Rapoza of Kingswood took the win with a meet record setting time of 12.59. Freshman sensation Liliah Fitzpatrick from Coe-Brown clocked 12.70 for second, and Juliet Faria of Kearsarge rounded out the top three in 13.00. In the 100-meter hurdles, defending champion Maddox Lovely of Newport dominated again with a blazing 15.26, a new meet record. Ava Milley of Pelham placed second in 16.32, while Norah Pelletier of Kingswood secured third in 17.08.

The 400 saw Madeline Poteet of Exeter take the top spot in 1:02.16, followed by Reese Bove of Hopkinton (1:03.57) and Kaitlin O’Shea of Mascenic Regional (1:03.87). Soon after, Exeter’s Sydney MacVicar took the 300 meter hurdles in 52.28 outleaning Gilford’s Emily Aguiar. Lebanon’s Ella Kerin-Herrick took 3rd with a lean as well.

In the 200 meters, Rapoza doubled down, cruising to another victory in 26.40. Martelle McBride from Exeter followed in 26.73, while Sophie West of Spaulding grabbed third in 26.85.

Mid-Distance & Distance

The 3200 meters was a great lead-off (if-you-will) as Haley Kavanagh of Oyster River lowered her own meet record from last year with a remarkable 10:46.86. Maddy Lane of Hopkinton wasn’t far behind, also dipping under the previous record in 10:52.88. In the 1600 meters, Alexis Paterna of Exeter pulled away over the final lap to win in 5:07.00. Reigning champ Mackenzie Cook of Oyster River was close behind in 5:09.08, and Kara Tschida of Goffstown earned third in 5:19.66. The 800 meters delivered a thrilling duel, with Hannah Pawlowski of Bow outdueling Exeter’s Danica Caron for the win, 2:23.10 to 2:23.52. Shaylee Murdough from Hopkinton finished third in 2:24.82.

Relays

The 4×100 meter relay was hotly contested between heats with Kingswood surging to victory in 52.87, thanks to strong legs from their veteran squad. Gilford grabbed silver in 53.09, while Spaulding took bronze in 53.21.

The 4×400 meter relay brought the crowd to its feet as Exeter sealed the win with a breaking the meet record to cross in 4:15.79. Oyster River followed closely for second (4:26.79), with Merrimack Valley claiming third in 4:30.57.

In the 4×800 meter relay, Hopkinton cruised to the win in 10:44.95. Goffstown tooke second in 10:54.60 to Coe-Brown’s 3rd in 11:11.44.

Field Events

In a competitive high jump, Sya McKay of Somersworth claimed the top spot by clearing 5-02.00, matching last year’s meet record. Camden Wilson of Bow followed closely, finishing second with a height of 5-00.00. A tie for third featured Amalie Trump of Oyster River and Emily Fauteux of Bow, both clearing 4-10.00 to share the final podium position. Julia Hou of Bow soared to victory in the pole vault, reaching 9-07.00, which set a new meet record. Shannon Elizabeth of Coe-Brown earned second with a clearance of 8-06.00, while third place was shared between Brooke Main of Coe-Brown and Mackenzie Szczepanik of Bow, who both cleared 8-00.00.

Eshaya Lauder of Manchester West continued to impress in the long jump leaping to a new meet record of 17-07.00 to secure the win. Norah Pelletier of Kingswood placed second at 15-06.75, and Martelle McBride of Exeter took third with a solid 17-04.25 mark. In the triple jump, Avery Baumgardt of Oyster River bounded out to 34-11.00 for first place. Jazzlyn Curry of Coe-Brown landed second with a distance of 31-10.00, while Sara Boudreau of Spaulding took third at 30-03.00.

The shot put saw Callie Dixon of Newport toss a 35’9.25″ bomb of a throw to win. Autumn Fabiano of Exeter was second with a mark of 32’11.5″ while Madelyn Donohue of Raymond was right behind with 32-08.50″ for third. Only two athletes broke into the top of the discus standings. Isabelle Grenier of Coe-Brown dominated won the discus with a throw of 107-11. Zoe Bishop of Hopkinton secured second with a 102’7″ while 3rd place was MV freshman Anabella Dunlop with a mark of 96’1″. Madelyn Donohue of Raymond claimed her second throwing medal of the meet with a gold in the javelin, launching it 103-10. Jasmine Blake of Pembroke was second with a throw of 101-0, while Mollie Sexton of Oyster River finished third with a solid 99-08.


BOYS

Results

Sprints & Hurdles

Talon Ouellette of Oyster River claimed gold in 10.95, holding off a strong field. Gavin Buxton of Bow surged to second in 11.07, while Max Scopel of Oyster River edged out Sanborn’s Breyden Sanchez for third with a photo-finish 11.22​. In the High Hurdles, Colby Crear of Pelham flew to a new meet record with a blistering 14.28. Brogan Grzybowski of Coe-Brown took second in 15.64, and Oscar Gulledge of Lebanon claimed third in 16.15, both under the existing meet record​. Exeter boys swept the 400 as Brodie Proulx won in 51.64 followed by teammates Agee Griffith and Will Manix respectively in 51.69 and 52.31.

Crear was back in the 300 Meter Hurdles to complete the sweep by smashing the meet record with a 38.21. His teammate Nathan Migliore also broke the existing meet record with a 40.96. MV’s Mychal Reynolds crossed in 3rd with a 43.11. Not to be outdone by Crear, OR’s Talon Ouellette also doubled back to win the 200 in 22.11. Cameron Lee of Coe-Brown clocked 22.74 for second, and freshman Teeghan Joyner of Lebanon ran a smooth 23.22 to round out the top 3.

Distance Events

Oyster River’s Oliver Lehman won the 3200 with a strong even effort to cross in 9:45.25. He was followed by Exeter freshman Logen Poteet and Oyster River’s Garrett Sellers who ran 10:18.58 and 10:20.35 respectively. D2 Indoor Champ, Kearsarge’s Daniel Dalbec powered to the in in 4:30.21 in the 1600. Plymouth’s Tate Hayman placed 2nd in 4:44.17 with Sanborn’s Jake Pitre crossing in 3rd in 4:47.38. In the 800, Luc Kerouac of Coe-Brown outkicked the field in 2:04.07. Lucas Baguidy of Goffstown was right behind in 2:04.18, while Roman Finlayson of Hopkinton placed third in 2:07.23​.

Relays

Coe-Brown stormed the track in 45.08 to win the 4×100. Exeter was right behind in 46.01, and host team Sanborn Regional delighted the home crowd with third in 46.02​. Plymouth Regional topped the 4×800 relay in 9:02.75. Coe-Brown secured second in 9:11.01, while Hopkinton followed closely in 9:12.40​.
Exeter won the meet’s final event, the 4×400 relay in 3:36.78, breaking the meet record. Coe-Brown was close behind in 3:38.01, with Kingswood placing third in 3:42.87​.

Field Events

Rio Calle of John Stark soared 20-11.25 to narrowly win the long jump. Dennis Glidden of Raymond followed just inches behind at 20-10.50, and Ben Sawyer of Conant took third with a 20-08.50 leap​. The triple jump saw Aiden Paquette of Merrimack Valley bound to 43-11.25, breaking the meet record. Osinachi Nwabueze of Pelham wasn’t far off with 43-08.00. Nicolas Oglesby, also of Merrimack Valley, completed the sweep for third with 43-00.00​.

Owen Turner of Merrimack Valley cleared 6-02.00 to win the High Jump as Calle took second, also at 6-02.00 but with more misses. Oglesby (MV) tied for third with Glidden (Raymond) and Eli Benjamin (Spaulding), all clearing 5-10.00​. Leb’s Nicholas Petrucci won the pole vault clearing a meet record 12’0″. Also eclipsing the old meet record was Exeter’s Thomas Eastwood who cleared 11’1″ for 2nd. Bow’s Liam Miller cleared 11’0″ for to claim third on misses over CBNA’s Harrison O’Neal and Pelham’s Migliore.

The throws saw Joel Douzanis of John Stark crush the shot put meet record with a huge 49-02.00 throw. Oscar Gulledge of Lebanon was second at 43-07.00, and Owen Dion (John Stark) threw 41-08.00 for third​. Gunnar Marvel of Gilford launched the discus 135-07 for the win. Max Scopel (Oyster River) took second with 132-00, while Zachery Heichlinger of Pembroke placed third with a toss of 128-03​. Sophomore Ayden Hodge of Newport led a youth movement in the Javelin winning with 150’0″. Sanborn’s Jason Bragg was second in 148’8″, but Gilford sophomore took 3rd with a mark of 143’5″. With Exeter soph Kenji Chase taking 4th, sophomores took 3 of the top 4 places.

A gap has been included between sessions in case of a delay of some kind during the D1 meet. Incoming / Outgoing Buses can NOT be allowed to overlap like last year.
