Recap! Results! Summer Nights 5ks!

LIVE RESULTS Courtesy of Speed Sport Timing

Congrats to all who participated in the Summer Nights 5ks and Group Runs held over the course of this summer. This past Friday night, the ‘racing’ event of the series occurred at Portsmouth High School. With that, we would first like to thank the partners of this endeavor which went from concept to reality in a matter of weeks. So thanks to Marathon Sports (all locations!), Speed Sport Timing, Portsmouth High School as well as the vendors who also took part!

Friday night began with the youth races! Congrats to Daniel Siller and Vivienne Siller who won the youth 800 while Liam Newbould won the Middle School Mile.

The girls 5000 featured runners from the across the state. Schools like BG, Exeter, Hanover, Newfound, Coe-Brown as well as other NH schools were well represented. Aria Deeb looked to be in midseason form winning in 18:39 with Lexi Paterna crossing 2nd in 18:59 and Zoe Coler 3rd in 19:24.18. Coler outleaned Jaylyn Paul who crossed in 19:24.69.

The boys race saw strong contingents from Portsmouth, Coe-Brown as well as other NH schools. Peyton Joslyn got after it right away chasing a fast time. He eventually crossed in 15:27.35, a great performance for mid-August. Carson Fitzgerald ran a measured 15:57, closing in a 67, for 2nd. Portsmouth’s own Will Hart crossed soon after in 16:11 while Concord’s Spencer Clemans ran 16:16 for 4th. Special thanks from Coe-Brown Alum Tyler Tkaczyk for setting the perfect pace.

The open 5k then took place offering a great backdrop for several raffles including the New Balance back packs. CBNA alum Lars Hogne would take the win in 15:43, but heads up high schoolers as middle schooler, Savka Skorupan won the female side clocking 20:32.

Congrats to all! And thanks to all who participated. As was intended, this event was meant for athletes to compete as they felt! Yes, some threw down and raced all out, while others used it as an up tempo effort and still some covered the distance. The bottom line was to celebrate the love of running! We welcomed all to help mark the proverbial end of summer preseason training as the high school season officially begins with first practices tomorrow. Thanks again to all the organizers and good luck to all this season!
