Boys Race Replay

Congratulations to Hopkinton’s Maddy Lane and PEA’s Bocelli Howland Vlahakis on their strong performances at the 2025 Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon. Against the very best in the country, Lane and Bo finished within the top 50 in our nation’s most competitive race annually.

The boys were first this year at Glendoveer Golf Course which typically is a mudfest and raining. Although it was certainly soft, the course was in relatively impeccable condition and runners actually saw the sun on race day! After an early race fall, Bocelli moved through the field to place an amazing 37th in his first experience at Nike Cross Nationals. He crossed with a huge pack in 15:46. Amazing after a fall in the most dense race in the country. Lane was consistent compared to last year running essentially the same time crossing in 18:18 and placing 48th. The New England Champion probably considers this a down performance, but we don’t! We think it is pretty awesome to consider a ‘down’ race placing in the top 50 of the nation! What a season for Lane!

Bottom line congrats to these two on a great XC season.

Congrats to all!
