D2 Shout Outs Week of 1/3-1/4!

Division 2 shoutouts for the January 3rd and 4th meets. Good luck to all the athletes competing at today’s JV Meet!

Jumping

  • Bow’s Camden Wilson cleared 5’2” this weekend. There were two other girls who cleared 5’0” – Savanna Comeau (Somersworth), and Sophia Daigneault (Plymouth). On the boys side, Merrimack Valley’s Owen Turner cleared 6’4” this weekend. Brody Smith (Souhegan) cleared 6’2”.
  • There were two girls jumping over 16 feet this weekend. Pearl Marvel (Gilford) jumped out to 16’8” and Jazzlyn Curry (Coe Brown) was right behind her 16’2”. John Katsel (Souhegan) jumped out of the pit, 21’6.75″. Putting him on top of the battlenotes.

Throwing

  • In the circle, there were two girls that threw over 35 feet. Callie Dixon (Newport) had the best mark of the weekend at 35’2.25” just beating out Madelyn Donohue (Raymond) who was right there with a toss of 32’2”. In the morning session, CBNA’s Isabelle Grenier tossed slightly further with a 32’8″ mark. The furthest throw in the boys’ circle came from Grant Spooner (John Stark). His throw of 47’8” puts him in the 2nd position on the battlenotes.

Sprints and Hurdles

  • The girls 55m Hurdles saw Bristol Shirland (Coe Brown) run 9:15. Not far behind her was Norah Pelletier (Kingswood) running 9.17. The fastest time on the boys side came from Brogan Grzybowski (Coe-Brown). He crossed the line at 8.28.
  • The 55m saw Ava Lacasse (Belmont) run 7.46, putting her on top of the battlenotes. The boys 55m saw Gavin Buxton (Bow) run 6.70 to out pace John Katsel’s (Souhegan) 6.77.
  • In the 300m, Macy Sawyer (Guilford) ran 43.62 and Ava Lacasse (Belmont) ran 43.84. Both girls are on top of the battlenotes. There were three boys who clocked times that are in the top 10 of the battlenotes. Landon Richards (Inter-Lakes) ran the fastest with a 37.17, Griffin Schultz’s (Con-Val) time of 37.28 was good for second fastest of the day, and Ewan Nicoll (Kingswood) came in at 37.31.

Mid-Distance and Distance

  • Samantha Swanbon (Souhegan) had the fastest 600m of the weekend for the girls. She ran an impressive 1:42.37! The fastest 600 of the day came from Ross Stephens (Con-Val) dipping under 1:25 running 1:24.90! Both athletes are sitting on top of the battlenotes.
  • The girls 1000m saw Aria Deeb (Hanover) run 3:13.11. A time which puts her in second position on the battlenotes. Peyton Joslyn of Monadnock was the top finisher for the boys, crossing the line in an impressive 2:35.74!
  • Oyster River girls flexed a tad in a 1k at UNH’s short track having 5 girls under 3:27. Madelyn Cook won in 3:14.5, Olivia Kavanagh was a close 2nd in 3:15. Throw in Neely Roy at 3:20 and change, as well as Jahrie Houle at 3:26 and Haley Bezanson at 3:27, and the Bobcats once again have flexibility in the middle and distance events.
  • Aria Deeb (Hanover) also ran the fastest 1500m running 5:04.30. Grant Skorupan of Milford ran the fastest on the boys’ side of things. He ran 4:13.70.

SCHEDULE CHANGES TO DII/DIII DIVISIONAL MEET

8:00am D1 schools arrive (Buses drop off and then park at Plymouth Elementary school)

9:00 Field Events start

10:30 Running Events start

1:15ish D1 meet ends

1:15-2:15 D1 buses pick up teams in the circle 

3:15pm D2 schools arrive (Do not arrive early. Buses drop off and then park at Plymouth Elementary school)

4:15 Field Events start

5:45 Running Events start

8:30ish D2 meet ends

8:30 D2 buses pick up teams in the circle

The meet has been moved to Sunday 6/1 due to expected weather. The start time will remain the same.
