Unlike last year the weather cooperated with the first weekend of invitationals. The girls saw 29
performances while the boys saw 23 performances which would have made last year’s top 6 at MOC and
qualified for the New England Meet. Some quick takeaways from this weekend; the sprinters,
hurdlers, jumpers, and throwers are locked in early. The mid-distance and distance athletes seem to
be waiting for the right meet with only three athletes, Maisie Emerson (Hopkinton), Rosalie Neveu
(Nashua North), and Mikita Barry (Bedford), posting times that would get them to the New England
Meet.
Standout Performances: Mikita Barry (Bedford) 4:55 isn’t wasting any time and capitalizing on her
fitness from indoor. Winston George (Pinkerton) clocking 10.78 is already performing at an elite
level! Although it wouldn’t have qualified him for the New England Meet, Joe Gustavson (Pinkerton)
took down two indoor state champions in the 1600.
