When did you start running?
I started running during the fall of my freshman year
Briefly describe the experience as a member of your team/program. Give an example of some of the “fun” stuff your team does together.
Our team is a really close knit group of guys. A lot of us have been going to school with each other our whole lives, and we’ve all also played sports with or against each other since we were young. We all hangout outside of practice whether it be going to a pasta party at somebody’s house, or just going out and messing around
What are your team goals for this season?
Our biggest team goal is to try and develop our younger guys who are still new to the sport. We have a lot of young talent on our team that we know could have an immediate impact for us. Another team goal is to qualify for New Englands this year
What has been your greatest challenge?
For me, my biggest challenge throughout high school has been not getting in my own head during races and to just run.
How does your coach motivate you?
My coach helps motivate me by helping me see and stay focused on the long term goal. He also reminds me to trust my training and to just have fun.
What motivates you most to do well?
The idea of failing and not being successful is what motivates me.
What is your favorite workout?
Either a tempo run or mile hill repeats
What is your favorite cross training activity?
Hiking is definitely my favorite cross training activity
What is your go-to prerace meal?
A sesame seed bagel with cream cheese from Bagel Alley in Nashua
Do you have a favorite prerace song?
“Banana Pancakes” by Jack Johnson
If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel all over the world and experience many different things, but one place I’d love to go to is out west to states like Colorado, Oregon, and Washington
What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
I’d probably be an entrepreneur and start my own business
What is the best advice ever given to you?
The best advice I’ve gotten came from my coaches and teammates my freshman and sophomore years. They emphasized that results won’t come immediately, and to not get discouraged after one or two bad races but to keep working and use it as motivation to do more and work harder
What is your favorite quote?
“Only quitters and ugly people say can’t”- Renee Archer
What is your favorite thing about Cross Country?
