PICS
On another picturesque NH fall day, D1 contested its JV state championship at Alvirne this past Friday. This year’s MOC course is known to be quite fast, but the competition surely was the priority on the day.
Usually, the state’s top teams have complimentary JV squads and the 2022 girls race was certainly evidence for this as Bedford ladies put on a clinic of team running, placing 5 runners in the top 7 places and seven in the top 15 to score a scant 19 points. The Bulldogs swept the first 3 places with Mishalena Raduazo (20:49) outleaned teammate Raissa Caridade (20:50) for the win and Samantha Ducharme (21:59) placing 3rd. Dover’s Jillian Sheedy and Pinkerton’s Sydney Sexton broke up the potential Bedford shut out by placing 4th and 5th just in front of Bedford’s Kirsten Santiago (6th, 22:34) and Kara Pulsifer (7th, 22:40). Winnacunnet’s Kaitlin Merrill and Sofia Nardone placed 8th and 9th respectively while Keene’s Beckley Wooster rounded out the top 10 in 22:49.
Speaking of Winncunnet, they placed 2nd with 61 points. Supporting Merrill and Nardone, were Lauren Muldoon and Samantha Tertreault as they placed 11th and 12th in 22:52. Completing the podium, Pinkerton would be third with 81 points.
Nashua South withstood a bit of a second half push by Pinkerton to win the 2022 title with 29 to 44. South, arguably the deepest
NH team of 2022, placed all five scorers in the top 14 highlighted by taking 3 of the top 4 positions. Whenever a team does that, they are hard to beat! So congrats to Cameron Patronick who won the title in 17:24 to his teammate’s Rishav Sood’s 17:30. Pinkerton’s Parker Brown had a great 2nd half to place 3rd in 17:47.
Pinkerton countered once again with Spencer Pidhurney in 5th. Salem’s Mitchell Raskow crashed the South/Pinkerton party placing 6th in 18:09 a couple steps in front of Pinkerton’s Trainor Mailloux (7th), South’s Micah Allard (8th) and Pinkerton’s Logan McDonald (9th). Rounding out the top 10 was BG’s Theodore Bond in 18:23 to lead his team to the 3rd place finish with 100 points.
