The 2023 Bobcat Invitational took place yesterday!!! We recorded it for your viewing pleasure! Some incredible performances! Highlights first, replay below! Oyster River us the host for both D2 State Championships as well as MOCs this year! An incredible facility.
RESULTS
- OR’s Ty Dorow rolled through 3 victories in the 100, 400 and 200. We have seen a ton of this from Dorow this season with valid success. Because of these experiences, look for Dorow to have an incredible championship season. And congrats on breaking 11!
- Matter of fact, that 200 saw 4 guys in the 22s! Dorow won in 22.24, Bishop Brady’s Joshua Gentchos was 2nd in 22.51, Gilford’s Isaiah Reese 3rd in 22.58, and PCA’s Tim Kelm in 22.87.
- Reese’s teammate Patrick Gandini dropped way down to the 800 rolling to the win in 1:57.71.
- Girls’ 100 was won by CBNA’s Anushka Chavda in 12.53. If she continues to improve her start, watch out!
- Usually a hurdler, OR’s Erin Carty won the 200 in 25.91.
- Bedford’s Samantha Ducharme won a hard fought 400 over Chavda and Newmarket duo Allison Burke and Alanna Hagen.
- Of note, while Bedford’s Fiona Lee won the 800, Hagen doubled back to place 2nd in 2:20. THAT is a TOUGH DOUBLE! Practice for D3s?
- Lee gave PCA’s Brianna Malone all she could handle in the 1600 as Malone won in 5:06.34 to Lee’s 5:08.90.
- Bedford’s Christopher Chong swept the Hurdle Events in 14.92 and 40.05.
- Bedford’s Anika Scott swept the High Hurdles and Long Jump!
- Bedford’s Jacob Redman extended his distance to win the 3200 in 9:40.35.
- Winnacunnet’s Wyatt Patterson cleared 13’0″ for the win in the Pole Vault and Bow’s Ben McDowell was second clearing 12’1″. Did we just see a preview of MOCs?
- Somersworth Taushawn Sheppard Triple Jumped 41’10″…D3 Champ?
- Oyster River Freshman Max Scopel won the discus with a toss of 125’3″. Yes, a freshman. Remember this name.
- Gilford’s Isaiah Reese is now a superstar as he threw the jav nearly 180′!!! And btw, he was 3rd in the 200!
