This week we celebrate the MOCs and select 2 standouts from the most competitive meet of the season thus far as our HOKA Athletes of the Week. Both of these athletes were double NH State Champions!
Pinkerton’s Briana Danis made a case for the Granite State’s best overall thrower as she won both the Discus and the Shot Put. She won the shot by almost a foot posting an impressive mark of 35’1.5″. She won the Discus by a much larger margin unleashing an absolute bomb of 138’11” on her first throw! Matter of fact any one of her throws would have won the competition.
In a field full of top notch sprinters, a clear cut favorite was difficult to select and most would not predict 1 athlete sweeping both the 100 and 200. This is exactly what Memorial’s AJ Sebastien did. He unexpectedly won the 100 in 10.87 and then came back to win the 200 at 22.45. Both of these victories occurred on a tough weather day for sprinters for sure. He beat all the names and other State Division Champions in the process!
And for all the above reasons, congrats to Pinkerton’s Briana Danis and Memorial’s AJ Sebastien, this week’s HOKA Athletes of the Week!
