Wilderness Championships Meet Hub
Steep in NH tradition and efficiency, the Wilderness League Championships always produces some of the best individual and team competition. It simply is a phenomenal track and field annually featuring D2 and D3 schools. The uniqueness to this meet is seen from its organization. Each member school is assigned a field event to run. From tape measures to officials, if the school does not provide, the event will not be contested ensuring each member school having an investment in the meet running efficiently giving its athletes the best chance for success! This make the Wilderness Championships a fantastic example of how our sport should be showcased – an 8-Ring Circus with no dead track time! This year Inter-Lakes High School is the host!

Belmont’s Ava Lacasse and Gilford’s Macy Sawyer are 2 of the best all around sprinters in the state of NH. Both have tremendous range able to be competitive from the 100 to the 400. This weekend they will be competing with each other in both the 100 and 200. Get your popcorn ready.
Throws Fan??? Get over to Meredith on Saturday to check out the Mascoma Valley throwers featuring Barnaby Diehn and Georgia Kondi. At this point, Diehn is a threat to break the discus state record every time he steps into the circle! He is also dominant in the shot! Speaking of dominance, Kondi rules the shot and discus circles this season! Saturday should be no different.
Gilford’s Pearl Marvel and Kingswood’s Norah Pelletier will battle in the Long Jump. Both have leapt beyond 17′ this season. Pelletier has had quite the breakout season as she is an almost 2 second favorite in the High Hurdles as well as the 300m Hurdles.

Hopkinton’s Maddy Lane has ascended ever higher this track season. Hard to believe, really, since she has been a national class athlete already, but when you run 10:10 in the 3200 and post a new 4 second personal record in the 1600 (4:51 and change), you are certainly at yet another level. She eyes a new PR in the 800 as she is the favorite seeded at 2:20.
While Lane is the present, her teammate, Maisie Emerson is on her way to being the future. She also has set personal record after personal record most recently posting a 5:16.83 mile last weekend. She is top seed in the 3200 meters this weekend and is a strong favorite. This especially after posting a 5000 meter personal best of 18:22 at the NH Distance Festival earlier this month.
Inter-Lakes David Walker is the veteran of the jumps. Seeded at 22’5″, the host school’s leaping legend will be in top form.

There is a youth movement in the sprints on the boy’s side! Mascoma Valley junior Sam Joyce is the top seed in the 100 and the 2nd seed in the 200. Flanking him in both is Kingswood sophomore Graham Scully. Watch for Kennett’s Jayden Duncan as well, as this super soph is top seed in the 200 meters.
Moultonborough’s Hailey Watts has quietly ascended the distance ladder of NH. She is the top seed in the 1600 looking to improve again on her 5:11.82 personal record.
Plymouth Regional High School middle distance boys need to be taken note of! They hold the top 2 seeds in the 800 with Tate Hayman (indoor D2 state 1500 champ) and George Sutherland. They also sport Lucas Van De Moere as the top seed in the 400 with a 51.94. Watch out for their relays in the coming weeks!
Good luck to all!!!
