Dave’s Photos are UP!!!

Congratulations to the Milford Girls and Souhegan Boys teams!  Division 2 State Champions!  For Milford, it is their first ever girls title, and for the Sabers, this is their 3rd title in 5 years.

Milford scored 97 points with a balanced attack winning 6 events in the sprints and jumps led by freshman Viankah Williams and senior Olivia Rougeau.  Williams swept the 100 and 200 with the latter being a new D2 record.  Rougeau swept the long jump and high jump and with teammate Nicole McMorrow’s victory in the Triple, Milford swept the jumps as well.  The runner-ups on the girls side were the Lebanon Raiders.  Led by Corinne Kennedy’s 33 points and Kath Merchant’s sweep of the throwing events, Lebanon scored 79 points.   As expected, Oyster River’s Maegan Doody swept the 1600 and 800.  She certainly put on a show in the 1600, breaking the Division 2 record, and coming within an eyelash of the NH State Record!

Souhegan boys scored 82 points and were led by Sebastian Eaton’s triple crown in the 100, 200, and 400 and Peter Forster’s 24 points in the jumps, winning the Long Jump. Sprinkle in 10 points in the discus as well as supportive points in the pole vault and sprint events, and the Sabers are state champs.  One has to look to Amherst as the leader in D2 boys Track and Field, since they have been heavily involved in each of those years, winning 3.  Surprise runner-up was Windham edging pre-meet favorites Portsmouth and Kennett by only 3 points.

A huge thank you to Portsmouth High School and Community for once again hosting the D2 Championships!  Once again, a great representation for our sport!

Thanks for all the videos Pete!!!

  1. This website and the videos are great! You can see all three divisions and how they compare. Is Corrine Kennedy from Lebanon and that FRESHMAN Viankah Williams from Milford participating in the New Englands? I think they can hang with anyone in New England!
