Loucks Games in White Plains, NY, has truly become a destination for New Hampshire’s best to test themselves against the northeast’s cream of the crop!  In recent years, names like Hannah Parker, Eli Moskowitz, and Maegan Doody have all made the trip down to what is one of the premiere events in the country.  Yesterday, at the 50th Loucks Games, the Granite State may have had their best showing.

NH 1-2!!! It what may prove to be the finish of the weekend, Merrimack Valley’s Kristie Schoffield outleaned Bedford’s Leya Salis to become Loucks Champion in the 800 meters 2:08.46 to 2:08.59.   Schoffield’s win marks the second consecutive year NH has enjoyed a Loucks title with Doody winning the mile last year in 4:51.44.

NH proved extremely strong in the 3200 as Oyster River’s Patrick O’Brien raced to a gutsy 4th place in 9:02.29 in the 3200 and the NH ladies placed four in the top 10, setting a new state record and all breaking 11:00 in the process. Exeter’s Jackie Gaughan smashed her own state record, threatening the 10:00 barrier to place 2nd in 10:05.71.  Bishop Guertin’s fabulous freshman, Caroline Fischer placed 5th in 10:35.97, and the Souhegan duo of Madeline Hunt (7th) and Arielle Zlotnick (9th) ran 10:41.16 and 10:59.16 respectively.
