Congratulations to Bishop Guertin as they swept the team titles at the inaugural Dome Championship with the boys accruing 59 points and the girls amassing 87.  Nashua South was 2nd in both boys and girls team competitions as well while Keene was the 3rd girls team and Concord placed 3rd among the boys teams.

The sprints saw MV’s Seth Baylus drop an ominous time of 6.66 to win over Souhegan’s Tony Garrant who in turn out-leaned Keene’s Chris Stevens 6.85 to 6.86. Stevens’ teammate Erik Nolan took the 300 in a close one over South’s Rory Olsen 38.57 to 38.86.   The Hurdles saw Memorial senior Bryce Foster take the win over Olsen 8.25 to 8.33.

In the middle distance events, BG’s Sean O’Keefe edged out the win in the 600 breaking the proverbial tape in 1:30.33, a half a step before Winnacunnet’s Peyton Saltmarsh’s 1:30.73. Keene’s Torin Kindopp continued to rule the 1k with an easy victory and a time of 2:38.35.  Concord’s Sam Hilts certainly had more company from his teammate John Murphy and BG’s Nate Fondakowski.  Hilts won in 4:09.38, Murphy was second (4:12.68) with Fondakowski 3rd (4:16.48).  It should be noted, Fondakowski had already won the 3k in 9:01.21 prior to the 1500.  A pretty nice double!

Foster also won the High Jump clearing 5’10” while Goffstown’s Antonio Kapos won the Shot Put with a toss of 48’6″.

In the final event, the unique to the Dome 4×300, Concord edged Keene 2:45.24 to 2:45.33!  What a way to complete the meet!

On the girls side, South’s Soraya Ross and Iyana Braswell went 1-2 in the dash in 7.51 and 7.70, just in front of Merrimack’s Kailey Dillon who dashed to a 7.73.  Ross would be a double winnah on the day as she also won the 300 in 43.93.  BG sophomore  Heidi Rosario would take the High Hurdles in 10.16 over Merrimack’s Dillon’s 10.25.  Solid day for Dillon which included .

In the mid-d events, Winnacunnet’s Kylee Quinlan continued her dominance winning in 1:44.01, but was certainly pushed by Keene’s Hannah Shepard (1:45.16).  BG’s Fiona Doherty was a double event winner taking the 1k in 3:06.54 and the the 1500 in 5:01.47 over teammate Mary-Kate Finn, who also took 2nd in the 3k.  2nd in the 1k was Souhegan’s Chloe Trudel, who won the 3k in  10:24.60.  3rd was Concord freshman Shelly Smith in 10:58.73.

The High Jump saw Keene’s Marie Prock and Merrimack’s Dillon tie with both clearing 4’10”.  Prock took the 10 points via the tiebreaker.  With a toss of 34’6.5″, North’s Madelyn Novak won the Shot Put.

BG solidified the team championship with winning the 4×300 meter relay in 3:17.61 to Keene’s 3:19.79 as Doherty anchored for the win.

A solid shoutout to the organizers of this event, BG.  Their work along with the folks at Souhegan who lent hurdles and other equipment to the cause as well as North Star Timing, created a great opportunity for the teams and athletes who competed.  An opportunity during a season with a very precious few.  So hats off!!!
