PICS!

On a perfect fall day with no wind and near perfect temps, JV teams from Division 2 and Division 3 made

the trip to Coe-Brown for the JV State Championships. Annually the kick off to each year’s championship season, the D2/D3 JV State Championship usually is one of the most competitive meets of the year. This year’s edition was decided by only 10 points on the girls side. While Oyster River’s Katherine Stone won the individual title in 23:09, it was a battle between Hollis/Brookline, Bow, Souhegan, and Kennett for the team title. In the end it was H/B‘s ability to place 3 in the top 7 as Cailean Roy placed 2nd (23:31), Erica Broadhurst placing 5th (24:14) and Mia Spear came in 7th in 25:10. Fifteenth place finisher Kattie Bauer and Charlotte Petrella sealed the deal for the Cavaliers as they scored 34 points for the win. Bow was second with 44 points. They were led by Madelyn Winch and Claire Wilke.

Individually Oyster River’s Sadie Goldberg was 3rd, Coe-Brown’s Francesca Ferguson and Charlotte Hanscom was 4th and 6th respectively. Lebanon’s Annelise Brown was 8th followed by Avery Ray and Hazel Stasko of Oyster River.

On the boys side, by placing 5 in the top 11, Coe-Brown sealed yet another JV State Title. The Bears sported a 17 second pack time as Bryce Sartin (3rd), Dylan Plowman (5th), Sam Fletcher (8th), Gavin Dyjak (10th) and Joe Gallentine (11th) all came in from 19:04 to 19:21. This was actually indicative of how tight the top 10 actually was.

Individually, Souhegan’s Ryan Quinn pulled away (slightly) in the final moments from a pack of 5 to become JV State Champ in 19:02 with HB’s Arjun Inkollu 2nd in 19:04. In addition to the aforementioned athletes the remainder of the top 10 included Oyster River’s Henry Miller 4th, Souhegan’s John Jennings 6th, Oyster River’s Kai Sowers 7th and Souhegan’s Thomas Arnoldy 9th. Notice a trend? That is right, Oyster River and Souhegan battled too a tie for the runner up plaque. And it was OR’s Cian Elly, the 6th man, helping the Bobcats nab 2nd place.

Congrats to all!!!
