PICS

What a day! After a weather postponement pushing the meet to Sunday, NH’s first ever double Divisional Championships was held at Sanborn High School. Yep, both Division 2 and Division 3 Championships were held concurrently at one location. It promised double the champions, double the competition, double the celebration so double the fun! And it delivered. Organizers gave a healthy stagger between field events and the start of the track events. So we will begin the recap with field events!

This category of events saw 2 double champions! In the 100 meters, Ava Lacasse of Belmont proved why she was the top seed, blazing to a 12.32 victory. Elle MacDonald of Newfound was close behind in 12.43, with Juliet Faria of Kearsarge taking third in 12.64. McKenna (11:32.09) was second once again capping a strong day and Maria Tilley of Gilford (11:34.76) completed a competitive top three. In the 800 meters, Lane’s teammate, Shaylee Murdough won in 2:22.26, followed by another Hopkinton Hawk Reese Bove (2:27.43) and Kaitlyn Stocker of Sanborn (2:30.20).

Hopkinton began demonstrating their D3 distance supremacy by winning the 4x800m relay in 10:19.23. Sanborn Regional (10:42.03) and Campbell (10:45.12) rounded out the top three. Team Standings

Hopkinton claimed the team title with 84 points, powered by distance depth and strong relay finishes. Belmont followed in second with 67 points, anchored by sprint dominance and also strong relays. Sunapee (37), Newport (36), and Somersworth (35) rounded out the top five in a competitive battle for team points.

BOYS

We do need to give a ton of kudos to Monadnock’s Lombara who might not have sat down all meet long. While he took 2nd to Crear in both hurdle events, he claimed 2 titles of his own in the sprints! He took the 100 in a wind aided 10.80 with Dennis Glidden of Raymond (10.98) and Breyden Sanchez of Sanborn Regional (11.01) rounding out the podium. On his final event, Lombara won the 200 in 22.19. Incredible. He scored 36 points for his team (70). Glidden (22.42) claimed silver for Raymond, and Wyatt Lawton of Profile took bronze in 22.46. Before this 200, Lawton crushed the 400 in a blazing time of 48.88, eclipsing the previous D-III mark. Ewa Edokpolo of Trinity was second (50.02), followed by Shane McKeen of St. Thomas Aquinas (50.32).

Daniel Dalbec of Kearsarge led from the front in the 1600 to win in 4:23.84. Monadnock’s Peyton Joslyn (4:26.97) took 2nd, with Elijah Bodanza (4:29.10) taking third. Joslyn would grab a state title of his own winning the 800 in 2:00.70, outkicking Isaac Nudd-Homeyer of Inter-Lakes (2:01.89) and Bodanza who claimed another bronze in 2:02.27. Gunner Currier of Mascoma Valley powered away from the field to claim the 3200 meter state D3 title in 9:38.50. Wilderness champ Colin Foster of Newfound (9:43.76) was 2nd with Isaac Reeder of Profile (9:45.48) 3rd.

Relays

Newport took the 4×800 title in 8:30.91. Hopkinton (8:31.59) and Pelham (8:34.91) followed closely. Pelham secured gold in the 4×100 with a 45.13 with the team of Kaeden Truong, Luke Draper, Troy Fornah, and Osinachi Nwabueze. Stevens (45.61) and Newport (45.67) were close behind. Team Championships

Pelham emerged as the team champion with 96 points, driven by strong showings in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, and relays. Pelham’s depth highlighted by Colby Crear, Nathan Migliore, and Osinachi Nwabueze, secured their team title, while Gavin Lombara and Peyton Joslyn led a strong showing for runner-up Monadnock.
