This week the NH State Divisional Championships provided many fantastic performances but a couple stand above the rest and are our HOKA Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to both Kelseigh O’Neil of Bedford and Taloosh Anderson of Souhegan! Kelseigh O’Neil unexpectedly won the Division 1 State Championship this past weekend. While she has had a wonderful and strong season, O’Neil saved her best effort for the Championship when it counted the most. Her approach was solid and calculated, but when she saw the opportunity to win, she took it with authority.
Similarly, when Souhegan’s Taloosh Anderson saw an opportunity, he did his best to take full advantage. 5th at the 2 mile mark in the D2 Championship race, Anderson had to have run one of the fastest, if not the fastest final miles on the day. He steadily passed one after another eventually closing to within a few seconds of the lead with one final turn around the tree. Although Anderson ultimately did indeed place 2nd, he was only a few seconds behind the winner and provided fans with the most excitement on the day.
Congratulations to both Kelseigh and Taloosh, this week’s HOKA Athletes of the Week!
