Day 2 of the 2025 NH Middle School Championships saw a picture perfect day and the best of Division 1 and Division 2 clash at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. A tip of the cap to the Hopkinton Runners Society, Lancer Timing, Brooke Laskowsky and the state officials for pulling off a first class event for the young harriers of NH! The course was fun for the kids and spectators! Great job by all!

Division 1

The Division I Boys produced a thrilling team battle which came down to a single point. Cooperative Middle School edged out Rundlett Middle School by the slimmest of margins—46 to 47—to claim the team title. Another stat demonstrating how close these 2 teams were was Cooperative’s top five combined for a time of 56:16, just 15 seconds ahead of Rundlett’s 56:31.

The individual race showcased a deep field of emerging talent. Alex Hodsdon of Cooperative ran a smart race hanging back over the first half but pulling away over the final moments to win in 10:43.41. Theodore Clemans of Rundlett finished right behind in 10:46.21, followed closely by Tucker McIver of Cooperative in 10:51.19, giving Cooperative two runners in the top three. Rundlett countered with Sean Fennessy in fourth and Joel Giordano in seventh, while Landon Barczak of Londonderry rounded out the top five in 10:53.84.

Behind the front-runners, Dover Middle School quietly assembled a strong pack effort, led by Russell Glode (6th), Oliver White (11th), and Hendrick Stender (12th), to place third overall with 63 points. Londonderry Middle School followed in fourth at 75 points, led by Barczak’s top-five finish and solid support from Sawyer McPherson and Carson Presher. Keene Middle School rounded out the top five teams, paced by Colton Hubbard (8th) and Wyatt Brown (21st).

The Division I Girls saw a winning performance from Rundlett Middle School, which claimed the team title with 46 points, narrowly fending off Londonderry Middle School’s 54. Dover Middle School finished a close third with 67, rounding out a tight trio at the top. This is even more impressive given the fact this was Rundlett’s second meet of the weekend!

The individual race was a showcase of balance between established eighth graders and rising younger stars. 8th grader Saleena Ramboer of Hudson Memorial set the tone early, breaking away to win in 11:33.42, the only athlete under 12 minutes. 7th grader Morgan Sanderson of Dover finished just behind in 11:37.13, while Elliana York of Cooperative Middle claimed third in 12:08.04, giving each of the top three teams a presence on the podium.

Behind them, Rundlett began stacking its scorers in the top 20—Maeve Durmer (4th), Ava Pike (7th), Corinne Conley (10th), Violet Crumrine (13th), and Vivian Bowman (16th)—to seal the victory. Their five scoring runners finished within just over a minute of each other, an impressive 1:02 five-girl gap that underscored their depth and pack strength. Londonderry countered with its own tight group: Kendell Cimeno (5th), Kaitlyn Ramsey (9th), Gina Fischer (11th), Julia Pallotta (15th), and Alyssa Cawthron (18th). Their compression was actually 1 second better than Rundlett’s, keeping the team race tense through the final straightaway.

Dover Middle School, meanwhile, displayed a strong mix of front-end speed and mid-race steadiness. After Sanderson’s runner-up finish, Selah Moll (8th), Maren Stender (19th), Ellie Moore (20th), and Summer Kelley (22nd) brought Dover home to a close third. Cooperative Middle School placed fourth (91 points), led by York’s podium finish and supported by Elliana Bremer, Grace Greenwood, and Teagan Myers. Hudson Memorial rounded out the top five thanks to Ramboer’s win and key scoring from Kinley Melanson, Samantha Ramboer, and Elyse Goulet.

Division 2

The Division II Boys showcased one of the most commanding team performances of the day. Hanover Parks & Recreation stormed to the title with an astonishing 26 points, placing all five scoring runners in the top nine and finishing with a total team time of 54:22, more than three minutes ahead of the field.

Leading the charge for Hanover was Edward White, who delivered a statement victory in 9:51.88, breaking his own course record and becoming the only runner to break 10 minutes on the 3K course. He was followed by teammate Henry Halter in third (10:53.15) and Craig “Coop” Jones in fifth (11:07.13), while Hans Hilton (8th) and Oliver Marchetti (9th) closed the door on the scoring with an almost unbelievable 1:24 five-man gap considering how fast White’s winning time was.

Amherst Middle School captured second place with 71 points, showing impressive depth behind Hanover’s front-running pack. Seventh-grader Connor Tranquili led the way with a strong seventh-place finish in 11:08.34, followed by Nicholas Lemieux (12th), Kai Folan (15th), Elliot Kaplan (19th), and Sawyer Hillyard (20th). Amherst’s 0:40 one-to-five spread was the tightest of any team in the field.

Oyster River Middle School finished third with 102 points, led by Everett Tardiff, who placed second overall in 10:36.22, breaking up Hanover’s near-sweep. Teammate Christopher Herd finished 13th, while Maximilian McKibben (31st), Brendan Jumper (39th), and Rishi Dhev (42nd) rounded out the scoring. Lebanon Junior High placed fourth with 120 points, powered by Aadhi Eedula (16th) and Carter Walsh (18th). Laconia Middle School (159) rounded out the top five, with standout efforts from Alexander Dea (4th) and Mikey Nemoda (6th) providing a bright spot for the program.

The D2 Girls saw Lebanon Junior High boast 2 of the top 3 finishers and a powerful top-five all place in the top 20 catapulting them to the championship with 46 points, over runner-up Hanover Parks & Recreation (78) and third-place Oyster River Middle School (96).

Leading the charge for Lebanon was Jillian Campbell, who broke away early and cruised to victory in 10:52.76, one of the fastest times of the entire meet. Teammate Brooke Nelson followed close behind in 11:02.19 for third giving Lebanon 2 very valuable low sticks. They were backed by Carolyn Campbell (9th), Molly Swanson (18th), and Victoria Pomeroy (20th). That front-loaded effort, coupled with strong displacement from Melanie Martin (21st) and Raeka Mikecz (41st), secured Lebanon’s decisive victory.

Hanover Parks & Recreation earned second overall thanks to remarkable pack running. None of their runners cracked the top ten, yet their compression from Edith Rojansky (14th), Gala Shea (15th), Cora Swenson (16th), Olive Hanissian (19th), and Lucia Santos (24th) yielded an impressive 0:28 five-runner gap, the tightest of the day.

Oyster River’s Kayla Kavanagh gave chase to the leader throughout the race, finishing runner-up in 10:54.65—just two seconds behind Campbell; what battle! Teammate Beatrix Howey-Clark crossed next in fourth (11:39.27), keeping the Bobcats in early contention. Kendalyn Jackson (30th), Rosalita Kritzer (34th), and Leticia Figueiredo (36th) completed Oyster River’s scoring, giving the team its third-place finish at 96 points and a well-earned spot on the podium.

Rounding out the top five were Milford Middle School (124 points), led by Sadie Skorupan in fifth and Everly Cook in 11th, and Amherst Middle School (133 points), whose balanced lineup featured Kinzley Lee (22nd), Julie D’Anna (28th), and Emery Trudel (31st). Hampton Academy placed sixth (142), highlighted by Pammy Valhouli’s sixth-place finish and Rowan Condon’s 12th-place effort.

Individually, Meghan Mullaney of Gilbert Hood Middle School and Isabel Geddes of Merrimack Valley Middle School also cracked the top 10 placing 8th and 10th respectively.

Congrats to all! See every one next year!
