Final Results! The Big Chill Challenge

Congrats to all who completed the inaugural Big Chill Challenge!!!  Congrats to our team champions, Team Rocket Powered and Friends out of Massachusetts as they amassed 1919.34 miles in 28 days!  Further congrats to the Bay State which won the inter-state competition with a total of 8,968.36 miles!

Regarding the high school showdown of LaSalle of Rhode Island versus Coe-Brown Distance of New Hampshire, currently it was LaSalle winning by a little over 150 miles with both groups over 1500 miles.  Great job by 2 of the best programs in New England.  They placed 3rd and 4th respectively behind 2nd placers, SoundRunner Racing who amassed 1723 miles.

The Black Bear Coaches of NH held on for 5th place overall and was the only other team above 1200 miles!  Ravenous Runner 2 (RI)  held on for 6th with Nashua High School South (NH) hot on their heels only 71 miles behind (1188 to 1117).   Regarding NH, top 5 teams were CBNA Distance, Black Bear Coaches, Nashua High School South, CBNA Lady Bears, and Falcons Outdoor Running!

Collectively, the Granite State collectively ran 7101.26 miles finishing only 25 miles behind the Ocean State placing 3rd as a state.  We tip our hats to the Bay State, Massachusetts which won with 8968+ miles.  We would like to think this is because of sheer numbers, and if this competition was based on a ‘per capita’ metric, the Granite and Ocean States would win out. 🙂

Individually, the Big Chill Challenge Champion was Selena Scott (RI) as she seemingly led wire to wire.  Neil Martin edged Patrick Bugbee for 2nd, both are from Massachusetts.  Tops in NH was Meghan Conway who tallied 281.6 miles to  Nadia Zhecheva of Nashua HS South who totaled 250.4 miles.

Sincere thanks for supporting the family of free websites which has formed throughout New England thanks to Marathon Sports and Runners Alley!!!  Information for award pickup was sent via email to all participants.  Information can also be found on the Big Chill Challenge website.

Congrats to all!!!  Hope so see all of you and hundreds more next year!
