The boys side this week showed a great race for the top spot with the three divisional winners taking the top three spots. Much like the girls, we are taking a look into the future after this race. Taking the victory at D1’s and third at Meet of Champions, this sophomore will be our fastest returner next year; our male HOKA athlete of the week is Matthew Giardina of Bishop Guertin.
The tenth grader battled well on Saturday, staying in contact with the top two for most of the race. Giardina wrapped up a great season in NH with a couple big meet wins, the most important coming at states by a margin of 5 seconds. Matthew showed the state this season that he is legit and will be tough to beat in the coming years.
